It’s still hot chocolate season whether you like it or not here in Toronto. I like to call this false spring because let’s be honest, it will still probably snow in April! So, as much as I want to eat my last root vegetable for the season I will continue with drinking my hot chocolate😂. Especially this recipe! Are you ready for it?
This recipe uses the Toasted Hazelnut and Cinnamon Milk as well as the Salted Almond Butter Coconut Whip on top. Let me tell you it feels like a warm, indulgent hug and is perfect for cozying up with a good book. I have added CBD oil to this recipe to make it a very relaxing ritual but feel free to leave it out or sub something like reishi which is also a great before bed supplement.
CBD oil, or Cannabidiol Oil, is becoming more and more popular. Usually derived from the Hemp plant flower, CBD oil has been shown to help with anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful supplement and I personally have found it helps me to sleep or can calm down my anxiety. I don’t use it regularly though and only take it for acute situations. I did notice a difference using it but I actually noticed a bigger difference using Kava Kava. Have you ever used CBD oil or Kava Kava?
Some Thursday Things:
I just finished Beartown. I couldn’t put this book down. It definitely leaves you reeling at the end. I ordered it from the Toronto Public Library and my pro tip for ordering books from the library is to get the Large Print Editions! The wait is often so much shorter.
I think my next book will be The Inner Life of Animals from my 2018 Book list. Have you read it? I read The Hidden life of Trees and loved it.
Speaking of the hidden Life of trees, check out this article from Quartz.
Did you hear about the Headspace App going pro athlete and inking a deal with the NBA!
I have been actively trying to decrease my plastic use and am thinking about getting some Stasher freezer bags and more Abeego Beeswax Food Storage Wraps. Have you ever used them? I have seen a couple of people rave about the stasher bags on Instagram.
