Hi Friends!! Happy Thursday!
We are heading off to Hawaii for a wedding today and I couldn’t be more excited! I am talking sun, sand and hopefully some really awkward tan lines. coming. my. way.
We chose to stay at an airbnb which I love because being able to cook my own meals wins over relying on hotel food and eating out every time. I know that Maui will have GREAT food (I already booked us an organic farm tour and lunch) but I still want to be able to prepare my own food from time to time. I have a feeling this refreshing matcha basil limeade might make it into the Hawaii mix. Are you ready to give this a try?

Matcha has grown on me over the last year. I don’t drink coffee and instead stick to a morning elixir full of good fat(like ghee or almond butter), protein (usually collagen), sometimes some medicinal mushrooms. But lately I have been really digging the matcha. With warmer weather on the horizon I wanted to create something a little more refreshing. Something I could pour over ice and this fits the bill perfectly. It is sweet, tart and oh so ah-mazing. Matcha lovers where you atcha?!
My friends, let me tell you, matcha goes so well with lime. Who knew this combo was up there with Ben & Jerry, Sonny & Cher? Matcha and lime or lyfe. And then I went and threw in some coconut water and fresh basil and you know what?! shazaam! SO GOOD! All you need is a blender and the five ingredients and you are in summer refreshment heaven.
Looking for more elixirs or summer refreshments? Try these:
Hibiscus Ginger Kombucha Margarita Mocktail (try saying that five times fast)
Chocolate Beet Latte (this would be so yummy over ice!)
Cardamom Rose Latte (also so good over ice!)
