Happy Thursday friends! The bomb cyclone has finally snapped and we are left with rain and a leaky basement. Thankfully, only a small leak, but a leak nonetheless. With the temperature swinging about 30 degrees C back up to around 1 degree C it actually seems quite warm. Cue the smoothies. When it is too cold outside I mostly stick to elixirs and warm-ish smoothies but the odd time I will make a mid afternoon green smoothie to snack on. This is a banana-less creation because let’s be honest- too many green smoothie recipes out there have banana in them! Embrace the banana-less green smoothies people!
In this recipe I used avocado instead to make it nice and creamy and peaches and mango for sweetness. The coconut water gives the smoothie a nice freshness but you could use maple water or just plain water(making it less sweet). For more flavour and zing I added mint, basil and ginger. I really like using herbs in my smoothies as it adds another layer plus the benefits of the herbs! The final addition of the lime is necessary. It gives that much needed tartness that balances the sweet of the smoothie.
