Happy Thursday Friends!
This is going to be a quick one today. We are in Maui at the moment enjoying the sun, sand and surf. I will definitely be doing a guide to my favourite places in Maui so stay tuned for that! But first, let’s get down to business with this Kombucha Slushie. Are you ready to give it a go?

I don’t know why I had never thought of blending kombucha before. I think in the back of my mind I always thought it would explode in the blender or something( I have had my fair share of exploding kombucha bottles in the past). But I LOVE kombucha so when I had a blend of kombucha and fruit on my last trip to Hawaii I kept the idea tucked away in my brain as something I wanted to try. And lo and behold, nothing exploded and it is delicious.
I must warn you though, just because it looks like a smoothie, it doesn’t taste like a smoothie. It is tart and tangy and definitely has the distinct kombucha flavour. It loses some of the fizziness in the blender but if you are a kombucha lover, this is refreshing, sweet and fun to drink.
I used frozen raspberries and ginger kombucha and it was a fantastic combination. I also added maqui berry powder which is a berry that is incredibly high in antioxidants. It is totally optional to add in but adds an extra dose of oomph to the drink. Feel free to use your favourite fruit and flavour of kombucha. I can see a Strawberry Lemongrass or Peach Green Tea being delicious combinations!
